Malcolm Purdy

Malcolm Purdy

Malcolm Purdy,

I became a Christian at 14 in the Methodist Church when living in Goole. After moving to Ripon I was brought to a much fuller dedication to the Lord Jesus, under the ministry of a godly Methodist Minister. There I started work (Co-op) and later went to Bible College (’Cliff’) where I felt the call of God to ‘full-time’ service: first as a Methodist Minister, and then as a Baptist Elder. Prior to coming to Swallownest Baptist Church, my wife Marbeth and I ran a non-denominational Conference Centre near to the Wye Valley.( I have also been a shop Manager, van driver/rep; youth worker & evangelism co-ordinator !).

Ian Hodgkin,

I have been attending Swallownest Baptist Church since moving into the area in 1969. Since I retired from full time teaching I have been active within the leadership of the church. My hobbies include music and computing. As a concession to keeping fit I also enjoy walking, swimming, and cycling.
